Happy Halloween! Maybe I’ll put more effort into a costume for next year.
Let’s Get Turtles!!
Yard art/garden ornament in progress…
I wish I got a picture of him in flight! But you can see a little of the yellow and orange on his wings.

Osprey?
Osprey?
I’ve got to get the real camera fixed. The iPhone isn’t cutting it. Three little kittens up in a tree first thing in the morning. You NEVER see kittens around here outside. Maybe that’s why they’re up in the tree? To keep safe from the coyotes? (There are two black and white ones together on the left).
Three Wood Storks, an Egret/Heron and a Roseate Spoonbill… and I only had the little waterproof camera with me.

Great Blue Heron on a (hot tin) roof…
And no, this isn’t a paper cutout… the lighting was just really funny.
When I am old I shall set up birdfeeders for my and the local cats’ entertainment.
Monk Parakeets (actually from the parrot family) at a birdfeeder on 30th Ave N.
So there’s a story with this one (of course).
I’m driving by and think, “wow, look at all those egrets… on the roof, in the trees, in the bushes, on the lawn…”. So I stop. Of course, when I stop, a neighbour comes out to see what I’m doing. ”Just taking some pix of the birds. I’ve never seen so many in one place like that.”
Well, turns out… the people feed the egrets (so reports the neighbour). ”Bird seed?”, I ask. ”No, they’re meat eaters: hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. Meat”.
I got the feeling the neighbour wasn’t too happy about it.
Just saying…

Not as spooky with the ibises looking for breakfast.
Look, honey! A (plastic) deer!!
An Anhinga flock!! We usually see them solo, so this was strange. The single shot is drying his wings after his swim.
